1 Do you think these tips are relevant to the classroom? Why?
Yes, I think these tips are very relevant to the classroom because you can use all of these tips to help engage students in the learning process. I really think all teachers need to use their inertactive white boards as effectively as possible. The more we know about our technology tools the more we are able to use them confidently in the teaching process. Using online streaming and class blogs are a great way to keep the students attention as well. I'm a little wary about the social networks though. I just feel as though that does not seperate school from home life.
2. How could using mediums such as Skype and "game-like" websites be used for classroom purposes without being abused? I think skpye would be great to use to communicate with other students around the world and kinda see how other schools are throughout the day. When doing my student teaching we had a student that moved back to south Korea. My teacher kept up with her through a class email. The students loved it! Also online games are great for study guides and study resources.
3. How would you apply these tips in your own classroom. I would use online games for in class study reviews for my students. I also think it would be fun for students to make up their own songs to go with study guides and record them singing it. Music sticks with you sometimes when material by itself does not. Music and technology are great learning tools!
